Garry helps leaders make human connection simple — so culture is lived, not laminated.
After 25+ years in Australian classrooms and school leadership, that is where the work started — not who it is only for. Whether you lead a company, a school, or a team, the job is people, relating, and a culture that holds.
Formal qualifications, years leading people, and a practice built for real rooms — not slides.

Human connection · leadership · culture
The origin is education. The work is human connection, leadership, and culture.
Started as a classroom teacher, trying to understand how people learn and relate — not only how lessons are delivered.
Moved into school leadership, mentoring people and putting evidence-based practice into real rooms.
Completed advanced studies in educational neuroscience, which changed how I work with leaders and teams — not only how I taught.
Founded EMS to make human connection simple. It started with educators. It is for anyone who leads people.
These are the foundation of every consulting engagement, keynote, program, and conversation.
Every practice is grounded in research and proven in real rooms. Classrooms were one of those rooms — not the only one.
You cannot pour from an empty cup. Connection and culture are how teams actually hold — in a company, a school, or any group of people.
Complex theories made simple. Practices you can use in the next conversation, not someday.
The work happens together. A community of people who lead other people — educators among them, not instead of everyone else.
Facts from the path so far. Schools are in this list because that is where the work began.
School voices are here because they are real. They are one example of leading people — not the whole audience.
"Garry's approach is practical, evidence-based, and actually works in real rooms — not only on a slide."
"The neuroscience framing gave me the why behind the practices. That changed how I lead, not only how I teach."
"Garry understands the pressure of leading people. The wellbeing and connection focus helped me stay in the work."
I have been in rooms where the culture was on the wall and nowhere in the conversation. I have felt the weight of leading people without the practices to match.
Classrooms taught me that first. The work now is the same work, in more kinds of rooms: connection you can practise, leadership that is lived, culture that holds.
My mission is simple: making human connection simple — for anyone who leads other people.
You are not doing this alone. Let us walk it together.
